Conquering for Concords???

Once again, Air Jordan mania is on the rise...

It's something about a Michael Jordan shoe that just makes people go insane. The newest edition to Nike and the Jordan franchise, the "Concord," went on sell at midnight tonight, but people have been camping out Wednesday afternoon across the nation to call dibs on these coveted sneakers, but are they really worth it?

Reports of riots as well as people being jumped and/or robbed for these new kicks are all over the news, twitter, and other social media outlets. According to The Raw Story, almost 20 police cars were sent to a mall in Lithonia, Georgia after shoppers broke down doors to get to these sneaks as well as a woman being arrested for leaving two young children inside the car as she went to shop.

Just a few hours ago Tyreek Amir Jacobs, an eighteen year old young man from Washington D.C. was reported to have been killed over a pair. People have gone to YouTube to make condolence videos. More to come on this story when more details are available.

The shoes are selling for $180 so why all of the violence? I don't think it is because of the price. I believe it's the limited number of shoes available at the stores. If you know it will be long lines of people buying the shoe, why not just let everyone pre-order them? I understand the rush people feel standing in line to be the first with the latest fashion, however you never know how another person at the end of the line is going to feel after waiting in line only to find out it was for nothing. This gimmick ins't worth someone's life. Mike...Nike...it's time for another game plan.

No disrespect but I think I'm going to just stick to my New Balance gym shoes...
